I know he’ll burn himself one of these days, no matter how many times I warn him to be careful. Here are three things I also know: It will be my fault, I will feel bad and he will learn to be more careful. After he fell down the stairs, he finally started listening to me and began holding the banister, every time. When he begins to respect the stove, I will worry less about the kitchen and worry more about his scooter, his sled, his food allergies, the crosswalks, broken glass and the neighborhood bullies just waiting for him to get a little older.
